Suki raises $90m Series E to take its AI scribe into referrals and prior authorisation
Healthier Capital, Crosslink and Hercules join the round as Suki pushes new agents through Optum, Zoom, athenahealth and 30-plus partners

Suki, the US maker of AI scribe and clinical assistant software, has raised $90 million in a Series E round, Healthcare Dive reported on 13 October 2026 1. Healthier Capital, Crosslink Capital and Hercules Capital came in as new investors alongside existing backers 1.
Where the money goes
Suki plans to spend the round on two things 1. The first is a set of AI agents that act after a consultation and treatment plan are finished, handling work such as referrals, prior authorisations for new medicines, filling orders and booking follow-ups, according to chief executive Punit Soni 1. The agents will draw on data from Suki's existing tools 1.
The second is its partner channel. More than 30 health technology companies have built Suki's software into their own platforms, among them Optum, Zoom and athenahealth; athenahealth's Ambient Notes runs on Suki, as does the ambient documentation feature in Zoom's telehealth product 1. Suki intends to push more of its features, including the planned agents, through those partners rather than chase new ones 1. "We don't want to add 30 more [partners] necessarily; we want to actually go deeper," Soni said 1.
Suki's product line already runs beyond note-taking to automated order entry, billing code suggestions, patient summaries and Suki Ask, a recently launched tool that answers clinical questions using patient charts and Wolters Kluwer's research database 1.
What it means for the market
The round shows how AI scribe vendors are trying to move up from documentation into administrative workflow, where referrals and prior authorisation sit close to revenue for providers and payers 1. For buyers in health systems, the bigger point is distribution: much of Suki's reach comes embedded in software they may already license from an EHR or telehealth vendor, so its agents could arrive through those contracts rather than as a separate purchase 1.
Funding scale separates Suki from its closest rivals. Ambience Healthcare raised $243 million and Abridge $300 million last year, while Suki has raised more than $250 million across five rounds in total 1. Soni argues against mega rounds of $100 million or more, saying they could set unreasonably high expectations. "I think you should raise only how much you need," he said 1.
For investors, that leaves Suki betting that a partner-led, capital-light model can hold ground against better-funded competitors in a crowded scribing market 1.
Caveats
The report does not name a lead investor, give a valuation, revenue figures or customer numbers, or set a date for the agents to ship 1. The detail on plans comes from an interview with Suki's chief executive rather than from independent evidence of how the agents perform 1. The partner-first approach depends on Optum, Zoom, athenahealth and the other platforms choosing to embed the new features 1.
